Captain's log:
Well, it's been awhile since I've visited here, it's not that I didn't want to leave a personal log for you to read but because my calendar got CRAZY busy! I mean CRAZY busy! My workload tripled, I was doing NaBloPoMo all of February, I had started looking for more outsource work, I've been in more meetings than I care to say, not to mention a backload of clothes waiting to be washed for months! Terrible how our days get this busy, I guess I chose the right name for myself, SuperBusyGirl! LOL
So, today I decided as my 2nd load of clothes are washing that I've got to post something here. After all, this blog should be easier to maintain right? All I have to do is post my log, no recipes to put up, no cooking or photographing, etc.! So I really should be able to post more often. I hope to catch up this month. Though my workload is high (and that's a very good thing), I am trying to make time for other things like exercise, tweaking my diet a bit more to add more healthier foods and lend support to my other friends. Some of them are just starting out in blogging and have questions and so I want to be helpful to them since I have a little experience in the area!
Today, after the clothes are finished, I plan to make my tater tot casserole for dinner. I'm using chicken instead of beef, again trying to get away a bit from red meat. That's not hard for me, but for hubby...hmm... well let's say it will be a bit of a challenge. He's not necessarily a red meat man, but he does like his chicken and the occasional chili I make for him. He's still suffering with this darn cough and so yesterday I went out to buy some medicine. It seems to be helping him. Also, our townhouse apartment is a dry place and I wonder without proper moisture if the dust could be affecting him. I know sometimes I start sneezing from it. We have a humidifier, perhaps I ought to break it out again and see if that might help.
Well..I logged into my Facebook the other day and noticed the changes. I must say, I'm not a big fan of them. I really liked the expanding mode when I posted a new recipe so everyone could see the photo, now you have to click the link to see the note in its entirety. I must say, some things don't need improvement!! But I'll live right???! Anyway, I finally got caught up at least with my cooking blog, I still have the task of archiving last months recipes and I'm so glad to have 28 of them because my archival section has been seriously needing some love! Also, I got some very good recipes from friends to add to Friendscipes and I must get cracking on that. One of my twitter friends, Gerald and his wife, made bread (no gluten) from a recipe I researched and he was kind enough to write me about the experience. I truly need to load that up. In fact that might be next Wednesday's post now that I'm back on weekly blogging as opposed to everyday.
I also must make time for my cookbook. I'm well into the 2nd chapter but I still have a lot of research to still do and I have to get caught up with my cookbook classes from Gloria. I was hoping to find some inspiration to get back to it and also I need a push to finish it. I can't begin to tell you how hard it is to write a book. At first when I was considering it, I thought, "oh that can't be too hard, I already write recipes!" But in deed it is more difficult and involved than I thought. I want the book to be fun, easy to follow, wonderful photos and well written for anybody to read. I hope to inspire non-cooks to get into the kitchen and try their hand at recipes that will be a cinch for them to follow! That takes work! So, I'm having to move my publishing date back at bit. I'm also thinking of first making it into an eBook and then progress to a hard book. This would make it accessible right away for purchase. I must also consider some other things soooo...I think the evenings or late nights might be the best time to work on it when there are no interruptions. Now that's an idea since lately I've been getting up in the middle of the night ready to get up.
Well...I must end this log to see about my clothes and check my green beans which are cooking downstairs for my casserole. So until next time...
Computer...end personal log.
